Rating: 86Tim Atkin MW: 2017 Argentina Special Report

Grape Variety: 100% Cabernet Franc

Origin: Fernandez Oro, General Roca, Río Negro, Patagonia, Argentina.

Aging: 100% of the wine is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels.

Alcohol: 14.5%.

Tasting Notes: Deep red colour with black highlights. Fruity aroma with black fruits predominating, along with notes of vanilla, spices, coffee, and a slight touch of tobacco. On the palate, it is a fleshy, full-bodied wine, very balanced and harmonious and with excellent persistence on the finish.

Food Pairing: Suggestions include beef burgers or stew; lamb; veal; meatballs in tomato sauce; sausage; roasted or grilled pork; roast chicken; duck; turkey with cranberry sauce; wild game hens; hearty fish dishes; quiche Lorraine; ratatouille; roasted-veggie lasagna; cheese ravioli; and cheeses such as goat cheese, Camembert, Feta, and Fontina.

Serving Temperature: About 15°C (just slightly chilled).
