Beaune 1er Cru rouge 2006
Tasting Notes: With the finesse typical of Beaune Bressandes and the structure typical of
Beaune Boucherottes, this blend of two 1er Crus offers the best of Beaune North and
Beaune South, respectively. Dominated by a fruity nose of cherry and strawberry, with
hints of pepper spice, the mouth is full of youthful tannins, with a long and powerful
finish. Over time those tannins will soften, giving way to more finesse in the mid-palate.
Stored properly, this wine will age well for the next 10-15 years.
Tasting Notes: "Ruby colour; spicy, black raspberry nose with minerally mushroom notes; well balanced, firm and muscular with ripe tannins." (90) --

Tasting Notes: With the finesse typical of Beaune North (Bressandes) and the structure typical of Beaune South (Boucherottes) this blend of two 1er Crus offers the best of the Beaune appellation. Brilliant, ruby red with a very fruity nose of wild strawberry, blueberry and hints of pepper spice. It is a harmonious wine with a nice balance between the fruit and the structure with elegant, silky tannins. It is pure and honest with a long mineral finish and good capacity for ageing. Corton Grand Cru rouge 2008
Return to top
Tasting notes: Ruby red in colour with a fruit-forward nose revealing subtle hints of ripe black cherry. Soft, young tannins and lightly oaked with a purity classic of the 2008s. This is not a powerful Corton that one might find on the east-facing slopes of the same appellation but a wine full of elegance and finesse, typical of a Corton rouge from the south-facing slopes. Don’t rush this wine; every minute that it stands in the glass reveals more of its underlying complexity. Could use some more bottle ageing to fully express itself. Drink 2013-2020.
