Primitivo Puglia IGT "Maccone" 2009
Tasting Notes: Brilliant and intense ruby red, darker in the middle with a violet border. This is a very complex wine: Bouquet
initially fruity, then earthy, undergrowth, morel mushroom notes emerging, which soon give way to ripe cherry
cordial aromas. Velvety, enveloping palate beginning with red berry flavours with hints of orange blossom and
cloves leading to pleasant spicy notes of black pepper and sweet cinnamon in the background, accented by walnut
husk, mace, and slightly bitter black licorice counterbalanced by a barely perceptible touch of sweetness. A layer
of sweet toast comes in on the finish along with lingering menthol-eucalyptus notes.
